I am a psychotherapist with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of therapeutic settings.  As a California registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMF #63104), I am supervised by Marjorie Chaset, MFT, MFC #44243.

My style is often described as warm, gentle, and nurturing.  I consider psychotherapy a collaborative relationship wherein we can work together to relieve your suffering or dis-ease and create the conditions for genuine happiness in your life.  I ensure a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment that encourages curiosity, openness, and acceptance of whatever arises in the process of therapy. Through specific humanistic, transpersonal, and cognitive therapies including mindfulness -awareness and body-centered practices, I can help you cultivate greater awareness and a deeper understanding of yourself. From this empowered place, you will find yourself able to make clearer and more thoughtful choices in each moment and to engage in more meaningful relationships in your life.

Many of the people I work with are struggling with:

*depression
*anxiety
*relationship dissatisfaction
*trauma
*compulsive behaviors
*sexual expression and orientation
*eating disorders
*grief and loss
*chronic pain

Some people are simply feeling stuck and looking for a way to move forward and feel more of a sense of purpose in life.  Depending on where you are in the moment, we might talk or sense into and gain a better understanding of the body/mind connection - all the while respecting and honoring your unique experience of this life.

I also lead contemplative wilderness retreats that offer a rite of passage experience for adults in transition.  I have been practicing and studying meditation for the past 15 years and am trained to give meditation instruction in the Shambhala Tradition and to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction - MBSR (developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn).  Feel free to explore the following pages to learn more about Contemplative Outdoor Retreats, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Courses, or Contact Me directly to find the best fit for you.
