Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week training developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn (author of Full Catastrophe Living) that helps participants learn to draw on their inner resources and natural capacity for cultivating greater balance, ease, and peace of mind in engaging life's challenges. Through the practice of mindfulness, participants come to develop a different relationship with mental, emotional, and/or physical pain that can help to create a sense of more "workability" in their lives. The skills learned in this program can be helpful to those living with work or family stress, caregiver stress, relationship issues, life transitions, emotional and psychological challenges, chronic pain or physical illness.
